Want to be more persuasive? The stakes are never higher than when you’re pitching to win a heart.

My 9-year-old nephew moved to the States. He just got this love letter from an 8-year-old classmate. It’s persuasion gold.

First read the letter, then see our analysis of her persuasive genius (you can apply every bit to persuasion at work):

10/10 for emotional intelligence!

Here’s my breakdown of her influence brilliance:

Short, and oh, so sweet.

What spunk! Astounding understanding of psychology from an 8 year-old. She could be president one day. Maybe now.

And how is that yes/no box for simplicity? All he has to do is shade a box and slip it back in her unicorn lunchbox.

Be like her: Engaging, concise, to the point, and with high emotional intelligence. It’s a winning combo.

How much are you leaving on the table?

In business, you might not want to kiss your customers, but you’re trying to win hearts nonetheless.

Our Writing for Influence in-house program takes a deep-dive into the psychology of persuasion and influence.

If you’re writing proposals, RFPs, tenders, marketing copy, business cases or similar, you can’t afford not to do it. How much business are you leaving on the table because your team isn’t applying these principles?

Winning hearts, winning business — it’s all psychology  ♥‿♥

What do you think? Is she a Wonder-Woo-er? Or am I over-analysing it? Air your thoughts below …
